Lil Peppi - “Mother Nature’s Crying” Eco-Rap

Published by yanjiaren under greener living Edit This

It’s great to see kids involved in ways to save our Planet and what better way to get the message across than through Music?I like this Eco Rap as it really gives us an account in a nutshell in the sense of what is wrong and what needs to be done. Saving the Planet doesn’t need to be one of those boring jobs done in drudgery and hardship. Like rapping, there are so many fun ways in which we can educate, be educated and also precipitate the right level of change needed to create that essential tipping point in which we can move from Self Destruct mode as a Human Race to Creative and Civilized mode that we need to move into in high gear. Sealed

We all have to find ways, big and small to keep getting the message out and into everyone’s subconscious and then into all our actions accordingly. If children can learn from a young age to take responsibility for their surroundings then the future will be brighter for all, young, old and everyone else in between. So even by listening to this song we can convert some negative thoughts into more positive and greener actions. Both the rap and singing in this Eco Song are magnificent, considering it is also done by some wonderful children.

Eco Friendly Shopping Bags Youtube Video:

Published by yanjiaren under greener living Edit This

Eco Friendly shopping bag
It’s different when just writing about something to actually seeing a visual on it and when i watched this Youtube video this morning it really got me into high gear to really get the message across before the Holiday Season gets in.

Now the Global Economy is going through a tight spot, all kinds of resources both natural and man made need to be preserved and recycled for everyone’s benefit and for future generations to be able to enjoy because the more we deplete our resources the less chance of survival we have as a Human Race.

The best options are to go for renewable energy sources and also improve on what we have to reduce waste. This video advocates the use of recycled bags or Eco Friendly ones of another sort instead of using the traditional plastic bags that take over a hundreds of years to biodegrade and also are wasting another natural resource we have in limited supply which is Oil of course. This easy switch from plastic to Eco friendly can make a huge impact on our waste and energy efficiency levels for years to come.

So next time you hit the shopping malls just go for a few of these bags and dump the plastic ones for good. An even better idea is to buy your Friends and Loved Ones a pretty bag for the Holiday Gift Season too and get the message across by putting a smile on someone’s face. As there are so many pretty bags to choose from there may be one for any occasion to suit the Happy Recipient. Help a Friend go green by buying them a bag. I bought both my Sister and my Mum one each from America last time I came back. They were both made from recycled bottles and I bought them from The Wholefoods Store in New York.

Las Vegas Solar Powered Project.

Las Vegas would be the last place on Earth where one would think that  sustainable living might become a reality but we can all be fooled sometimes and this is exactly what has taken place in the Sun Kissed region of the U.S. Yes one of the largest Solar Powered Energy projects undertaken by public corporations in the U.S has taken place in Las Vegas and you can have a good in depth read about what The Nevada Company along with Water District and Powerlight Corporation have achieved in this project that is bringing so much more green and needed electricity into the Area.

If this is used more than just as an example and becomes the Norm then the problem of creating sustainable energy can be solved and more and more cleaner energy can be consumed by all, business and individuals alike. This project is noted as one of the great photo volteic successes in the U.S Public Sector of Energy production and would make any nation proud. This will more likely trigger other counties to follow suit and support energy efficiency methods in their areas too.

Schools in the U.K fight to tackle Climate Change.

Published by yanjiaren under global Warming Edit This

Now we have some promising report and you can read more in depth on what The Yorkshire Times has to say about this encouraging news.

Schools all over North Yorkshire in the U.K have been partaking in an energy saving project in their effort to help tackle Climate Change and the results have been very promising. They have already saved up tpo 20% of their energy costs which means that those much needed school funds can be spend on other immediate needs the School may have at the time instead of on Electricity etc.

The Climate Action Programme as it is called is an initiative running throughout the whole of the Harrogate Area and it is not resigned only to School Boards but is also targeted at the school children themselves who are currently learning ways in which they can help slow down Global Warming and live greener lives in general.

If all the Schools took part in these types of programmes and also then invested in total green energy you can see what savings would be made financially for the school plus the help it would be offering to our ailing Planet which would benefit from this shift in day to day school living.

Eco Solutions: The Green Wall of China.

Published by yanjiaren under green projects Edit This

China has a reputation of upping in pollution levels but there are so many projects that China that are beginning to slowly balance out the effects of Industrialized pollution so this is bringing new hope to Environmentalists and Locals Alike.

The Green Wall of China is a large project which after its construction is hoped will stop the sand storms from hitting Chinese cities that come through the Gobi Desert. Some critics are very skeptical about this idea and if it will really work in its entirety. Planting of trees can’t so any harm in my opinion and something being done is better than sitting with hands crossed and doing absolutely nothing.

Whatever happens we have to give some positive light and hope that more green and sustainable projects will sprout around our Troubled Earth in the hope that things will improve for future generations to come.

Stephen Colbert Funnies: The Hummer Club Environmentalists?

Published by yanjiaren under eco news Edit This

This actually made my eyeballs roll with laughter and I had to post it for some light reading. The Hummer Club consists of a bunch of American Patriots who are trying desperately hard to preserve this American status symbol through these trying times of economic meltdown.

Stephen Colbert decided to track them down and give them pride of place on Prime Time TV so that every one can ’sympathize’ with their daunting cause. Trying to fill that tank up costs a fortune and I feel sorry for the guys that have to fork out so much for gasoline but if that’s where they want to spend their hard earned dosh who am I to complain about it?

One thing is for sure that the Hummers are turning into a minority while other economy conscious Americans are opting out for the more energy saving Toyota Hybrid models to frolic around in. SUV’s are clearly on the decline and as times change so we have to adapt to these changes in a more appropriate and wiser manner. It is like a bunch of Colonialists trying so arduously to hang on to glorious notions of Empire and Slave Trade.

Enjoy the vid because I surely did! Cool

Senegal Ecovillage Microfinance Fund

Published by yanjiaren under green projects Edit This

Muhammad Yunus of Grameen Bank in Bangladesh has inspired many people all over the World with his micro credit system of getting people out of immense poverty. Now other great leaders are adopting his system and modyfying it to the needs of the local people. Here is one such project taking place all over poor villages in Senegal and it is solid proof that just with a a few financial resources and team work miracles can happen and peoople can live out of extreme poverty and enter a world not only of prosperity but of harmony with itself and with Nature.

Setting up finding to keep people in self sustaining environments is a promising leap into a better future and can be the Model for things to come in developing countries.

Instead of using Globalization and mass migration into cities which not only causes more congestion but other socio economic problems people can adopt an Eco friendly lifestyle backed by the solid and stable growth of sustainable living systems. With the help of group coordination and micro funding the Senegalese Villages are getting themselves and others out of Povery and also they are becoming self sufficient without having to rely on hand outs just to survive. Just dishing out aid to poverty stricken areas is not the solutuion. Only Eco solutions using sustainable living systems can really work not only now but for future generations to come.

Please watch this great Youtube video on the Snegalese Microfinance funding project. Laughing

ECO NEWS: China and it’s CO2 Emissions.

Published by yanjiaren under eco news Edit This

China has been branded a villain in CO2 Emissions by many countries looking for an excuse to continue on with their surge of polluting the Planet but compared to other countries She isn’t doing as bad as the Media is claiming and on the contrary it is actually trying to curb emissions like introducing stricter measures on the road with car efficiency a priority even over their U.S counterparts which is quite interesting.

You can see an in depth report of these findings in the latest Eco News Bulletin that really is an eye opener for the General Public at Large. It is amazing really what we can be fed on the daily Mainstream Media and it is always better to dig a little deeper and do one’s own research to find something closer to the Truth.

It is true though to say that with a surging Economic Boom in China the result is more pollution but at the same time China IS more aware of the problem as it is developing at a higher rate than when other countries were industrializing.

Green Tips:Making gifts from recycled products.

Published by yanjiaren under green gifts Edit This

Making hand made gifts for both Friends and Loved ones can be both fun and also heart warming as it not only represents giving something as a token of Good will but also the fact you are suing products that would otherwise pollute the Earth or go to waste is another feel good factor in making such an item.

One beuatiful and unique gift which you can present to your Loved ones is made from something we often have spare and that is a glass bottle. Yes a nice glass jar or bottle that is laying around idle and we don’t know what to do with it can be a great gift idea.

If you have any class jars with lids then they not only make great storage gifts but can be also filled up with other goodies to be given away with the gift. You can paint these jars or bottles and the bottles can either be re used for food purposes like olive oil bottles for example of can be used as flower vases.

The way to distinguish what you want to do with these bottles or jars is to paint them with different ideas. For example the olive oil bottle you could pain the name olive oil on the front and paint some lovely olives on it with acrylic paints which you can pick up from any art store. You can even put the recipient’s name on the bottle to personalize it. If you are painting the bottle to be used as a vase try to see what taste your recipients have and do a painting job that goes wit their mind set.

Jars make lovely gifts and you can fill them up with sweets for presents and then pain them with a design of your choice. Zodiac signs are also another popular painting theme which you could associate with giving one someone’s birthday. Cool
