Conserve Energy - Save Money Tips.

Published by yanjiaren at 4:26 pm under greener living Edit This

Here are just a few tips that can not only save you some money during these trying times but can also help you conserve energy thus help the Environment at the same time.

1. Save on your electricity bill buy opting out for energy efficient light bulbs instead of the traditional incandescent bulbs and as we use around ten per cent of our electricity through lighting then we can save much through this method. Nowadays you will find fine looking examples of this energy efficient variety which will not only be pleasing to the eyes but will be even more pleasing to your Wallet! Do you know that energy efficient light bulbs consume up to 80% less electricity than their traditional counterparts? Also remember to dispose of your original and out dated light bulbs in a green way by disposing of them through a recycling centre or other recycling method most convenient to you as these bulbs need to be sorted out like other items.

2.  Do not use the stand by button for your electrical goods. This is something too many of us forget but the electricity vampires are sucking up all that electricity for nothing due to our laziness so we loose both ways. We consume too much unnecessary electricity and we have to foot the bill at the end of the month to pay it! Remember whenever you are not watching television or using a computer, please switch everything off from the main switches and never leave on standby. At night remember to go to all your switch sockets and turn every thing off completely so you can conserve energy and save money. In some government laws being passed the standby mode is being abandoned so you will see new products coming out without this facility. Cool

Ugh…we are totally bad about turning off AND unplugging appliances. Okay, I do fine but dp leaves his computers on all day while he’s at work. With a server in the house too we are definitely sucking some serious electricity.

Good tips. My husband got us in to the habit off turning off the power strips at night. I think it definitely helps.

Well i put some of them across the room but they dont light up like the yellow ones. I found that in moist areas, like ny, its advisable to put a variety to tone done the flog.

We’ve finally completed our bulb replacement program and now every lightbulb in our home is one of the energy efficient ones. They cost so much more than the ordinary ones it’s taken us about 8 months to replace them all, but finally it’s done. It will be interesting to see if this reflects in our electricity bill.

Oh I have to send this to my mother! She leaves most things in her house on 24 hours a day, including but not limited to; computer and air conditioner.

She doesn’t believe that it uses ‘that much more electricity’ to leave it on than to turn if off/unplug it.
