Eco Friendly Shopping Bags Youtube Video:

Published by yanjiaren at 9:40 am under greener living Edit This

Eco Friendly shopping bag
It’s different when just writing about something to actually seeing a visual on it and when i watched this Youtube video this morning it really got me into high gear to really get the message across before the Holiday Season gets in.

Now the Global Economy is going through a tight spot, all kinds of resources both natural and man made need to be preserved and recycled for everyone’s benefit and for future generations to be able to enjoy because the more we deplete our resources the less chance of survival we have as a Human Race.

The best options are to go for renewable energy sources and also improve on what we have to reduce waste. This video advocates the use of recycled bags or Eco Friendly ones of another sort instead of using the traditional plastic bags that take over a hundreds of years to biodegrade and also are wasting another natural resource we have in limited supply which is Oil of course. This easy switch from plastic to Eco friendly can make a huge impact on our waste and energy efficiency levels for years to come.

So next time you hit the shopping malls just go for a few of these bags and dump the plastic ones for good. An even better idea is to buy your Friends and Loved Ones a pretty bag for the Holiday Gift Season too and get the message across by putting a smile on someone’s face. As there are so many pretty bags to choose from there may be one for any occasion to suit the Happy Recipient. Help a Friend go green by buying them a bag. I bought both my Sister and my Mum one each from America last time I came back. They were both made from recycled bottles and I bought them from The Wholefoods Store in New York.

My hubby and I have been doing this since a year ago; not getting plastic bags but instead paper bags or this eco-friendly bags.
I have a hard time going to a plastic recycle center which is about 15 miles away from my home so the moment when eco-friendly bags were available in our grocery stores, we bought them.

I do use canvas bags when shopping. I have two of them and carry them around in my back pack everyday. Once you get used to it, it just becomes habit. They’re alot more comfortable and stury than plastic bags as well. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I do speak some Greek. Love the Greek food and ouzo :)

We always try to use a canvass bag - we keep it in the car usually; the other day we stopped in the store and ran in without it. Upon coming home with plastic bags, my son’s disapproval was palatable - who knew a 12 year old could lay such a guilt trip?

Great blog! I also like to give holiday presents in reusable gift bags or wrapped with fabric. Giving children’s gifts wrapped in hand-dyed playsilks is an inexpensive, creative way to go.

Our local supermarket has wonderful sturdy reusable bags that they sell for $2.99 ea. When they first did the switch from plastic they offered them to the customers for .99 ea, most people here in our village use them now regularly. I also like the big old brown bags but just for nostalgic reasons, I think if you offer someone a sturdy bag at an affordable price they will gladly make the switch. But some stores make it an impractical option by charging a small fortune for the bag, there was one store in Toronto charging 29 bucks for one, that’s an awful lot just to be trendy.

i love that bag. i remember when we were young, marketing in the philippines means bringing our own basket, or basket bag. no plastic bags. now, glad to see the world is going back again to it, only that the bag looks trendier now than our baskets :)
