Eco Solutions: Recycling shoes

Published by yanjiaren under greener living Edit This

Now not everyone can or will purchase shoes made purely from Eco friendly sources but there is a way to still help others and the Environment with different shoe recycling programs available on the Internet that are definitely worth a mention which means you could even do something good when you are trying to get rid of your latest designer shoes that you just don’t want anymore.
Have you ever imagined that your old pair of sneakers or trainers as we call them here in the U.K, can be recycled and turned into sports grounds and other recycled goodies? Now a site online called nikereuseashoe dot com is doing just that which means that your smelly old trainers are now going to be put into good use so it is a site well worth visiting which is doing a great bit of work for the Environment that benefits everyone.
There are other programs which execute different recycling functions such as sending used shoes to Developing countries where people who can’t afford the luxury of buying a pair of shoes can now be the new proud owners of their own pair. There is so much we can do every day that can help others which doesn’t cost us much or even anything at all but if we are conscious of the fact that things we may not need anymore, others can re use then we will be less wasteful which means we are living a greener life.

President Elect Barack Obama’s Renewable Energy Plans

The New President Elect of the United States Barack Obama is keen to push new legislation to inject over 15 billion dollars a year into Renewable Energy to get the U.S using 10% of Clean Energy by 2012. Once He hits the White House this will be one of his main priorities along with bailouts and Stimulus packages he wants to bring in to fix the ailing U.S Economy.

If he is successful in this new Green Initiative it could kick start Global Green Movements by other Governments Worldwide as they are always looking to the U.S for initiatives and Leadership in this area. If other Developing Nations can plough more of their resources into Renewables before laying out infrastructure for new towns and cities it could really reduce the impact of Global Warming and bring about a new civilization of Greener and cleaner thinking put into action.

Reversing some of the negative Trens brought about by the Bush Administration and His Predecessors is going to require a strong initiative and a bold plan to steer the Country..and with that, The Entire Planet into a new direction.

If Governments can push for a greener World, then individuals and companies will be more liable to respond but it is a tree way matter that needs addressing from all sides, companies, governments and lay people alike.

Clean Coal: Myth or Reality?

Published by yanjiaren under global Warming Edit This

Global Warming and Climate Change are issues that MUST be addressed within the next five to ten years or we may see irrevocable shifts in our entire existence and problems that may never be reversed and can spell disaster for Mankind as a whole.
America uses a great supply of Coal as does China and other Industrialized Nations but getting clean coal and using Carbon Capture Technology is a very expensive business and is Government Legislation and Coal Company Policy going to be enough to get cleaner coal to households or will there be another sluggish development in the too little too late mode that will spll disaster for Humankind in the Long Term?
Here is a startling Video that dis SPELLS some of the Myths and Truths surrounding clean coal, carbon capture and what Governments and Business are willing to do at this present time to make things better, if at all that is their primary aim. Something has to be done and fast, but are our Governments taking the calamity to come seriously enough to act and push for stricter legislation regarding cleaner Energy production and practices? Only the fUTURE WILL SHOW IF THE TRENDS TOWARDS A GLOBAL WARMING CATASTROPHE CAN BE AVOIDED.

Eco Solutions: Southern China goes Green

In Southern China a new Green Revolution is taking hold as Guangdong Province makes a huge leap forward in an attempt to clean up its act. Infested with a plethora of polluting factories Guangdong has been known for its not so green manufacturing activities but with a new manifesto the Local Government is now trying to do all it can to change that and be a leader in Green Energy and production as well as the Environmental Challenge.

There are parts of the Province now harnessing Wind power and other incinerator Plants are recycling waste and converting it to electricity as much power is needed in the region for home and industrial purposes. China is aware of the ecological challenges facing the World and its own nation and although the progress may seem slow to the outside World, China is in fact becoming a World Leader in Global Renewable Energy Production and is fully ware of its responsibility to reduce co2 emissions.

You can see here from this interesting Youtube Video what the Government of Guangdong is trying to achieve along with local enterprise agencies and companies.  The road to making China go Green isn’t easy by any account as many companies who are only interested in personal gain will not like to fit the bil for environmental change but hopefully with Government legislation taking effect and implemented more strictly, this trend for polluting the atmosphere may change and go into the opposite direction which will not only bring a brighter and cleaner China but wil also allow the Chinese People to live happier and healthier lives.

Green Computing tips.

Published by yanjiaren under greener living Edit This

Here you will find interesting information on how to use your laptop or pc in a more Eco friendly way and not only save the Environment but also save on your energy bills for increased energy efficiency in your daily living.

1. Power Management for Windows and Mac.

If you turn your power management program on then this will put all your pc and laptop appliances into sleep mode when necessary and then into live mode at a push of a button. You can visit this climate savers site for guidelines to use this to maximum effect.

2. Avoid using a screensaver if possible as this uses much more energy than what it is worth.

3.  Avoid using the most brightest setting if you can as from light to dim means less energy consumption so lower the brightness.

4.  Turning off all those peripherals when not being used is the best, like printers for example.

5.  Spend more time on a laptop if you have one than the Desktop as it doesn’t use as much power as the PC.

6. Turn your monitor and computer off completely when not in use from the power socket.

These are just a few ways in which you can conserve energy while using your Computer.

Thames Gateway rejeneration project thinks Green.

null

The Thames gateway Regeneration project is going ahead following green guidelines that will blend in Infrastructure with clean and and green spaces alongside urban living and working areas. Apart from providing new jobs and homes in the Area of the South East of the U.K, this project aims at going greener and taking into account Harmony with Nature alongside technically advanced living.
The Parklands Vision as it is known consists of various elements in its makeup which include green spaces and agricultural projects alongside hydro projects linking up the waterways. Creating and Aesthetically pleasing environment to live in with Green connotations is what will help make this long term living project a success both economically speaking and environmentally. There have been urban projects that have become disaster zones which were created between the 50’s and 70’s and the U.K has learned that amassing concrete jungles is not only an environmental hazard but also a failure for its Society at large so is now using a strong balancing act to create a life of calm and tranquility within a vibrant and bustling community drive.
