Green Humor: GREEK NOVA Donkey Ad

Published by yanjiaren under green humour Edit This

If you really want to travel in a green way then why not go green by getting a donkey? Although if you are in my home country, Greece that is, you might get a traffic warden’s ticket or stopped by the Police for obstruction of the way and going too slow at only four/five miles an hour!

I watched this ad at my Mum’s house first and still can’t get over as to how hilarious it is.This is the translation for those un initiated into the Greek Language lol.

POLICEMAN ‘PULL OVER THE GAIDAR (DONKEY) MAY I SEE YOUR PAPERS PLEASE?’
OLD LADY ‘KIRE ASTINOME YIATI MILAS ENGLEZIKA? MR POLICEMAN WHY ARE YOU SPEAKING IN ENGLISH?’
POLICEMAN ‘MAY I SEE YOU PAPERS PLEASE OR I AM GONNA SHOOT’
OLD LADY ‘ ESI SOOT..YOU SHUT UP’
POLICEMAN ‘ MITSO I NEED BACK UP’.

Now you can all go green, no excuses lol!

Electric Cars and Green technology

Published by yanjiaren under eco news Edit This

At last the advent of the Electric Car has now arrived and sooner not later will see more of the green electric vehicles on the road as Governments push for more green tax cut initiatives for those driving one of these new generation electric or fuel efficient vehicles.

I found some great  sites that give good information of the best in the Electric Car Industry so it is good to take a peek around what there is before deciding which one is right for you. There are so many more models to choose from and the variety of fuel efficient cars, hybrids and bio fuel running cars out there on the market to suit your needs. So out with the Hummers and in with the Hybrids, it looks like consumer trends are changing forthe better at last.

Here is a cute electric car guide that gives you a little idea about why it is better to go electric.

Going Green: Sky Burial in Tibet and Eco burial tips

Published by yanjiaren under greener living Edit This

Do you know that you can go green even in Death? So you can plan the perfect Eco funeral now with your conscience green and clean knowing that you will leave the Environment as Eco friendly as possible. Here are some nice ECO FRIENDLY funeral tips to keep you on your toes.

 1. Write down all your wishes, including green ones so your Loved ones know what to when the time comes for you to depart.

2. Get good burial advice and see what Eco options there are available to you in your area. If you are a resident of the States you can get some good educational pointers from the Green Burial Council who are there to educate as well as place a good green standard for Eco Funerals.

3. Decide if you want to be cremated or buried so the different styles of burial can be tailor designed to your specifications or liking.

4.  There is another way to go green why not go completely ORGANIC and have a SKY BURIAL IN TIBET that way nothing goes to waste!!

You can enjoy this Tibetan Youtube Sky Burial Video just to get a taster!

Who said there aren’t innovative ways to go green?

Another Green Funny: Swedish crematorium recycles heat from dead bodies!

Published by yanjiaren under eco news Edit This

 Image from treehugger

O.K now we have heard it all and you may have heard of the phrase ‘death warmed up’! Well now you have it literally. How would you like to be wrapped up and cozily warmed up from the recycled heat of burning dead bodies? Does that sound nice to you? Would you like to be reconstituted and recycled after death? What are your views about it?

Well in an effort to keep some of the Population warm this winter the Swedes of Halmsted have come up with the idea of recycling heat from a crematorium to bring you warmth straight into your living room. I guess recycling has become dead easy nowadays. I say Kudos to BIO  FUELS! You can read more of the story here: I got a good kick out of it myself and at least the people that have passed away can be rest assured that een when leaving this Planet they have been of use to their fellow Man.

Beggars go green: THE ART OF E-BEGGING

Published by yanjiaren under green humour Edit This

Now even Beggars are joining the Green movement as the picture says it all. I am definitely going to send this guy buck and if any of you can spare then send him something via Paypal. He is E-begging and I had to post this pic here as I think it is quite apt and in keeping with our green blog. He should open an Alertpay account too, I think  might send him the link!

I mean think of all the paper money he is saving and all those coins, etc. This way he can buy all his stuff online and not use any normal cash.

I thank Stephen Humour for this hilarious pic. I just couldn’t resist putting it here for you to enjoy if you haven’t yet seen it. One picture can speaks a  thousand words and I think this one has just topped it. I am really wondering though. Is this guy really homeless or is he stinking rich and amassing humongous shares in Google and Ebay? Will we EVER find out the Truth behind the art of E-begging? Is this Dude for real or part of a gang network of online Geeks? I leave you to be the judge of that.I think I am still going to send him a buck. I think just for the sheer ingenuity he deserves it don’t you think?

One Million Acts of Green

Published by yanjiaren under eco news Edit This

Now in Canada an exciting Global challenge is taking momentum with the One Million Acts of Green Movement spear headed by nne other by the CBE channel and Geaorge Stroumboulopoulos of the ‘HOUR’ TV program.

It is trying to engage Canadians to engage in as many green  acts as possible and on an Internet platformjot them down for others tosee. There is The Million Acts of Green Website one can sign up on and get actively involved. This isa great piece of green news that deserves some merit and I hope it can continue to grow and not fizzle out in a week or so. Green living is now vital for our survival as a Human race as any other alternative life style would bring as and every other living thing on this Planet to disaster. If you can even do one green act, wherever you are in the World here and now, know that it can MAKE a difference. The time to act is Now if we really care about cleaning up our Act.
